Ironic Mk2
by Jean Segers of
St Lambert, Quebec, Canada

Jean has made a lovely job of his IRONIC 2. He has rebuilt the front end to blend the fuselage into the spinner for a really clean aerodynamic entry.
Jean has used the Permax Turbo '450', this is a very torquey motor and turns a 7.5x4 folding propellor direct drive.Jean says, 'I also changed the wing fixing to a front dowel and rear bolt arrangement.
Weight; no motor, no batteries nor speed control 10 oz ! motor+speed control 8 oz.
Batteries; still trying to figure out the best. With a pack of 7x1000mAh the plane complete, motor running hangs on the prop. and takes 22 Amps so we are almost vertical !
Now to the real flight as soon winter permits. P.S.  It was a joy  to build your plane everything went smooth and flew together. I also build a simple undercarriage wheel set up from bended up rod fixed outside with 3 brackets 1oz so I could test fixed props and enjoy  concrete landing.'

SkyBug
by Steven Cotterell of
Ipswich, Suffolk, England

"My 400 SkyBug still in perfect nick!! Over 400 flights...
Direct drive 400, Rondo 400, Gunthur prop. With 8.4v 700 packs give me more than a stiff neck!

This Bug has been flown to heights I wouldn't fly GLIDER! Bring on Bug.2 the remake... many thanks, Steve. P.S. Note the big foam wheels, with weight saved I added bigger wheels."
Steve added... "Flown by two monkeys, one in the plane the other not."

1912 Filey Flyer by Tim Denny, Ipswich, Suffolk, England

Geared 400 motor driving a Graupner 9x5 SlimProp. 800mAh NiMH (8 cells I would guess)
Tim tells me that this was only his second model and that he found it very easy to build and fly.
I love the motorcycle style fuel tank and detailed engine. Great work Tim!
